Abstract:
Disclosed are: a cell culture system which enables the direct separation of HCVs from the serum collected from a chronic hepatitis patient without needing any artificial acclimation process; and a method for detecting the presence of HCV infection in a simple manner through the cell culture system.
Specifically disclosed is a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 1, an amide or ester of the polypeptide, or a salt of the polypeptide or the amide or ester. A reporter assay system can be constructed using the polypeptide, thereby providing a cell system for detecting the presence of HCV infection in a simple manner.
