Abstract:

This invention provides a method for determining agglutination, which, when agglutination exists, can automatically determine that, even in the case of partial agglutination, agglutination exists, whereby a highly reliable determination result can be realized. The method comprises optically measuring a reaction pattern, which is formed in a vessel by particles upon a agglutination reaction and automatically determining, based on the obtained data, whether or not the agglutination of the particles exists. The method comprises a first step of, regarding measuring points included in a predetermined region in the reaction pattern, determining transmitted light quantity data in each measuring point, a second step of calculating a parameter which represents a variation in transmitted light quantity in the predetermined region, and a third step of comparing the calculated parameter with a predetermined reference value to determine whether or not the agglutination exists.
