Abstract:
In the course of producing a roll of a chemical-coated sheet for tissue paper products, the amount of the applied chemical contained in a chemical-coated sheet is rapidly determined. Disclosed is an apparatus for producing a roll of a secondary sheet for tissue paper products, characterized by comprising: a superposing means by which primary continuous sheets supplied from a plurality of rolls of a primary sheet are superposed along the machine direction to form a multilayered continuous sheet; a chemical application means which applies a chemical to the multilayered continuous sheet; a means for determining the applied-chemical amount in which, in the course of conveying the chemical-coated continuous sheet, a surface of the chemical-coated paper is irradiated with near infrared rays to determine the absorbance of a given component of the chemical, and the amount of the applied chemical is calculated on the basis of the measured absorbance of the given component; and a winding means which winds the multilayered continuous sheet into a roll of a secondary sheet.
