Title:
METHOD FOR DETERMINING FAULT TYPE OF HIGH VOLTAGE DIRECT CURRENT TRANSMISSION LINE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/233294
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A method for determining the fault type of a high voltage direct current transmission line, comprising: acquiring the positive and negative voltages and currents of a j end and a k end of a direct current line and converting same into the voltage and current values in mode form; calculating the traveling wave differential currents of the 0-mode and the 1-mode components of the j end and the k end of the line respectively; comparing the calculated value of the traveling wave differential current of the 1-mode component at the current time t with the calculated value at the time t-t0 so as to determine whether a fault occurs on the direct current line; converting the traveling wave differential currents of modes of the j end and the k end into traveling wave differential currents in polar form; calculating fault type coefficients of the two ends of the transmission line; and performing fault determination according to characteristics of the fault type coefficients.
