Abstract:
Provided are: a method for determining obstructive sleep apnea syndrome risk whereby a risk of the onset of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome in a subject can be objectively and easily determined within a short period of time; a program therefor; and an X-ray diagnostic system provided with the program. The method for determining obstructive sleep apnea syndrome risk comprises: a first step for taking X-rays of the side head and neck part of a subject to at least detect the hypoid bone, sella (S), gonion (Go) and menton (Me); and a second step for determining whether or not the center of the hyoid bone body or the whole hyoid bone body thus detected is involved in an area above a perpendicular down from Me to an extension of a line segment S-Go. When the center of the hyoid bone body or the whole hyoid bone body is involved in the area above the perpendicular down from Me to the extension of the line segment S-Go, it is determined that there is no risk. When the center of the hyoid bone body or the whole hyoid bone body is involved in the area below the perpendicular, it is determined that there is a risk. In the case of using an intraoral device for treating obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, the intraoral device is manufactured on the basis of the determination results.
