Title:
METHOD FOR DETERMINING ORIGIN OF AMINO ACID
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/143226
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for determining the origin of glutamic acid in a sample, and more broadly relates to a method for determining the origin of an amino acid. The present invention makes possible a stable isotope comparison measurement that is considerably more reliable than the conventional method, by measuring the δ13C of glutamic acid (amino acid) by elemental analysis-stable isotope ratio mass spectrometry (EA-IRMS) and by measuring the δ15N of glutamic acid (amino acid) by gas chromatrography-stable isotope ratio mass spectrometry (GC-IRMS). The present invention also makes it possible to determine the origin of glutamic acid (amino acid) by comparing the stable isotope ratio of glutamic acid (amino acid) of known origin and the stable isotope ratio of glutamic acid (amino acid) of unknown origin.
