Abstract:
The present application provides a method for determining a security protection enabling mode, a communication method, and a communication apparatus. The method may comprise: a first terminal device receives a first identifier from a core network network-element, the first identifier being used for modifying a security protection policy of a terminal device; when the first terminal device and a second terminal device establish a connection for service, the first terminal device determines, according to the first identifier, whether to enable security protection of the connection; and the first terminal device sends first information to the second terminal device, the first information being used for indicating whether to enable the security protection of the connection. On the basis of the described method, two terminal devices can successfully establish a connection.
