The present application relates to a method for determining a transfer-by-switch duration, a timing control method and apparatus, and a power supply system. The method for determining a transfer-by-switch duration comprises: performing real-time detection on any one of multiple input power supplies within a preset detection time; when the any one of the input power supplies is abnormal, determining, according to the type of a transfer switch on a circuit corresponding to an input power supply to be transferred to, a maximum time required for full closing of the transfer switch; and determining, according to the detection time and the maximum time required for full closing, a transfer-by-switch duration of the circuit corresponding to the input power supply to be transferred to. According to the present application, when circuits where multiple input power supplies are located are not short-circuited or current backflow occurs, the total time for transfer by switch is greatly reduced, thereby shortening the hold time required by a load at a later stage, and reducing the cost.
