Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention relate to a method and device for assigning a graphics processing unit (GPU) task. The method comprises: determining, from a GPU cluster, a target GPU for a GPU task to be processed, the GPU cluster comprising at least two GPUs and each GPU in the GPU cluster storing at least one piece of parameter data; sending to the target GPU target parameter data needed for processing the GPU task to be processed, the target GPU being used for processing a GPU task corresponding to the target parameter data; and assigning the GPU task to be processed to the target GPU for processing. By means of the method and device for assigning a GPU task in the embodiments of the present invention, the same type of tasks can be processed by the same GPU, thereby achieving the reuse of parameter data and significantly reducing overheads for parameter data transmission between GPUs, such that the utilization rate of the GPU can be improved.
