Abstract:
The invention relates to metallurgy and can be used for a process of combined continuous casting and metal rolling for obtaining a lengthy endless wire rod in such a way that enables the winding thereof in a bundle. A method consists in obtaining a melt, accumulating thereof in a mixer, reducing and conveying said melt with aid of a groove to a receiving bath of a casting machine, alloying and discharging of the obtained alloy from the receiving bath through a dispenser. Before introducing the melt into the receiving bath thereof, it undergoes the reduction by creating on the path of the melt flow, an area filled with petroleum coke and/or pieces of graphite and located in a special reservoir and/or on the surface of the flow as it passes through the groove for the melt. The alloying is carried out by introducing a component embodied in the form of a rod into the melt flow just after the reduction thereof, in this case a mirror of the melt in the receiving bath is covered with petroleum coke and/or pieces of graphite. The inventive device comprises a furnace, a mixer, a groove, and a receiving bath fitted with a dispenser and a stopper. The reduction reservoir is placed between the groove and the mixer, and the component embodied in the form of a rod is placed inside a metallic tube provided with a nozzle. An arrangement for supplying inert gas in the region of the flow entry and the component in the receiving bath can be envisaged. The dispenser of the receiving bath is made of graphite and contains a protective outer layer in the form of mortar coating mixed on orthophosphoric acid.
