Abstract:
Disclosed is a method and device for clustering detected targets in a radar system. With respect to each of all targets detected using a reception signal received through a reception antenna in a radar system, a distance from the radar system to each target, a relative speed, angle information are obtained. An x-axis directional distance and a y-axis directional distance from the radar system to each target are obtained using the obtained distance to each target and angle information. Information of the relative speed from the radar system to each target, x-axis directional distance, and y-axis directional distance is normalized, and the Euclidean distances are calculated for respective pairs of combinable targets among all detected targets by using the normalized information. The detected targets are clustered according to a density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise (DBSCAN) technique by using the calculated Euclidean distances. By using a clustering result, meaningless steel reflectors can be distinguished from a meaningful target (vehicle) from among objects detected by the radar system, so that vehicle driving safety can be greatly increased.
