Abstract:
A method of coating steel cord and steel wire with rubber, comprising the steps of passing steel wire (1) to be coated with rubber through a first electromagnetic induction heater (10) for preliminary heating, feeding the heated wire to a calendar device (30) to coat both surfaces of the steel wire (1) with the rubber (2), and applying an electromagnetic induction heat treatment to the steel wire (1) coated with the rubber by a second electromagnetic induction heater (20) installed on the downstream side of the calendar device (30), whereby an adhesion between the steel cord and steel wire to the coated rubber can be increased by increasing the adhesion of the steel wire (1) to the rubber near the boundary of the steel wire (1).
