Abstract:
A method and a device for continuously forming rod-like fiber-reinforced resin materials susceptible to impregnation and high in fiber content. The method is characterized in that a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin sheet (200) containing fibers arranged in the form of a sheet and impregnated with thermoplastic resin is divided into strips each containing a specified number of fibers and passed through grooves of a roll (30) while kept softened and under tension. The device is characterized by being provided with means to supply a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin sheet (200) containing fibers arranged in the form of a sheet and impregnated with thermoplastic resin, and with a grooved roll (30) for forming said sheet whose resin is kept softened into rod-like strips.
