Abstract:
The present invention uses a demarcation line as a reference to control the position of a host vehicle in a lane during travel. The present invention recognizes a demarcation line in front of the host vehicle and executes autonomous driving via either two-sided recognition control for controlling the position of the host vehicle on the basis of demarcation lines on the left and right sides of the host vehicle, or one-sided recognition control for controlling the position of the host vehicle on the basis of a demarcation line on the left or right side of the host vehicle. By switching control between the two-sided recognition control and the one-sided recognition control, the region currently being traveled is stored as a steering occurrence region when steering in one direction and then steering in the return direction has occurred, such that autonomous driving is continued via the control prior to the steering occurrence region during subsequent travel through the steering occurrence region.
