Provided are a method and device for controlling an operation object. The method comprises: detecting whether an operation object enters a corresponding application window (S1); and if so, displaying, in the application window, object indication information corresponding to the operation object and information about a visual association between the object indication information and the operation object (S2). Compared with existing techniques, by establishing the visual association between the operation object and the object indication information, the above solution enables a user to identify, select and control the operation object conveniently, facilitates control of the operation object by the user, and supports complicated man-machine interaction, thereby facilitating execution of a complex operation by the user, and improving man-machine interaction efficiency and user experience.
