Title:
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING START AND STOP OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE IN HYBRID VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2023/007528
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An internal combustion engine (2) provided to a series hybrid vehicle to generate electric power starts when the catalyst temperature decreases to an activation temperature (TC1) or the water coolant temperature decreases to a lower limit water temperature (TW1) and stops when the catalyst temperature reaches an operation end temperature (TC2) or the water coolant temperature reaches an operation end temperature (TW2). A continuation time (Tev) of an EV mode operation intended to be a target is set in advance. A temperature decrease rate (Ra) is used to set the operation end temperature (TC2) such that a temperature difference (ΔTC) from the activation temperature (TC1) is "ΔTC=Ra×Tev." A temperature decrease rate (Rb) is used to set the operation end temperature (TW2) such that a temperature difference (ΔTW) from the lower limit water temperature (TW1) is "ΔTW=Rb×Tev."
