Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention relate to a method and device for data processing. The method is applicable in a database system. The database system comprises a data sheet. The data sheet comprises at least one area. The method comprises: when any area satisfies a predefined criterion, saving data in the area satisfying the predefined criterion as a data storage file into a storage device, the data storage file comprising time metadata, the time metadata being area write time for the data in the area satisfying the predefined criterion; when a merge operation trigger criterion is satisfied, acquiring the time at which a backup operation is executed most recently, selecting at least two first data storage files, the area write times recorded in the time metadata contained in the at least two first data storage files precede the time at which the backup operation is executed most recently; and merging the at least to first data storage files selected, thus solving the problem of backup being time consuming due to a merging method in the prior art.
