Abstract:
Disclosed in the present invention are a method and device for data transmission, used for solving the problem in the prior art that the latency of a terminal device from an idle state to a connected state is long. The method comprises: a terminal device pre-storing a TA indication list of a group of cells; the terminal device carrying out cell selection or reselection and obtaining a cell identifier of a cell obtained through selection or reselection; the terminal device querying a TA value corresponding to the cell identifier in the TA indication list of a group of cells according to the cell identifier; and if the terminal device successfully queries the TA value corresponding to the cell identifier in the TA indication list of a group of cells, the terminal device executing the sending of an uplink radio resource control (RRC) message without random access. The terminal device uses the solution mentioned above, thus reducing the latency of the terminal device from the idle state to the connected state.
