A method and device for detecting a vehicle component for automatic vehicle washing, the method comprising: in response to detecting an authorization signal that allows an automatic operation to be performed on vehicle components of a vehicle to be washed, determining a set of vehicle components associated with automatic vehicle washing conditions; detecting a working state of at least one vehicle component in the set of vehicle components; on the basis of the detected working state, determining whether the vehicle to be washed meets the automatic vehicle washing conditions; and in response to the vehicle to be washed not meeting the automatic vehicle washing conditions, prompting the at least one vehicle component to adjust the working state. The present method and device for detecting the vehicle component for automatic vehicle washing may automatically detect whether the vehicle device meets the vehicle washing conditions, which thus achieves the automatic operation of the vehicle device, reduces manual intervention, reduces the probability of errors, and improves user convenience and satisfaction.
