Abstract:
A method and a device for detecting the force of rotational resistance of a bearing for a rotating body, such as a roller or a pulley, without providing a torque meter or a load cell to the rotating body. In the site in which a belt conveyor is installed, a roller (23A) is rotated while being supported by a stationary shaft through a bearing without being removed. A change with time in the reduction in the rotational speed of the roller (23A) thus rotated is measured using a contact-less rotation meter (25). Then, the force of rotational resistance of the bearing of the roller (23A) is calculated using the change with time in the reduction in the rotational speed.
