Abstract:
In a light control system (1), a captured image is acquired in the direction of travel of a vehicle (S110), and light sources are extracted from the captured image (S140). In addition, probabilities for estimating that light sources are vehicle light sources coming from vehicles are calculated on the basis of light source parameters for identifying light sources (S150). Dark areas that are darker than the area around the bottom of the light sources in the captured image are extracted (S220). Furthermore, the probabilities are set higher for light sources from which dark areas were extracted (S240). Light sources having probabilities greater than or equal to a preset reference value are presumed to be light sources of other vehicles (S250). In other words, the probability of being a vehicle light source is set high when a dark area detected as the shadow of a vehicle has been detected.
