Abstract:

A method and device capable of determining the end of the run-flat run life of a run-flat tire. In a vehicle provided with run-flat tires and a run-flat tire system having a tire information transmission body placed in the tire, a method for determining the end of the run-flat run life of a run-flat tire includes Step S1 for monitoring the inner pressure of a tire and determining, as the starting time point of a run-flat run, a time point at which the tire inner pressure is equal to or below a specified inner pressure, Step S2 for measuring the temperature of the tires in the run-flat run, Step S3 for obtaining a temperature variation rate per unit of time based on the measured temperature value, and Step S4 for comparing the temperature variation rate and a specified negative threshold value and determining that the end of the run-flat run life has been reached when the variation rate is smaller than the specified threshold value.
