Abstract:
Disclosed in the present application are a method and device for determining an SSC mode, the method comprising: a terminal device determines a requested SSC mode and sends a first request message to a first core network element, the first request message being used to request to establish a first PDU session, and the first request message comprising the session type of the first PDU session, the requested SSC mode and first indication information. The first request message sent by the terminal device to the first core network element may carry the first indication information which is used to indicate that the SSC mode requested by the terminal device is not allowed to be modified, thereby preventing a network element at a subsequent network side from making an incorrect decision, for example modifying the requested SSC mode to be another SSC mode that is not supported by the terminal device.
