Title:
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR EVALUATION OF SOLAR RADIATION INTENSITY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2010/106582
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The objective is to provide a method and a device for the evaluation of solar radiation intensity in which accuracy can be increased by taking geographical conditions into consideration. Geostationary satellite image data (1) is combined with a three-dimensional map model (2) to set a mesh (3) based on plane coordinates according to the terrestrial resolution of the geostationary satellite image data (1). A sun shadow area (4) is calculated based on the solar position specified by the three-dimensional map model (2) and photograph day and time data, and whether individual cells (8) of said mesh (3) fall within the sun shadow area (4) is determined. A solar radiation intensity evaluation element (6) for each cell (8) in the evaluated area is obtained by referencing a table (7) wherein the pixel value (5) of each pixel of the geostationary satellite image data (1) and the solar radiation intensity evaluation element (6) in the area corresponding to each pixel are correlated. When it is determined that a cell (8) falls within the sun shadow area (4), an evaluation element after correction for geographical conditions is obtained by applying a specified correction calculation to the solar radiation intensity evaluation element (6).
