A method of feeding inflammables to a gasifying furnace (10) for gasifying the inflammables, comprising the steps of feeding the inflammables (14) to a hopper (36) while preventing external air together with the inflammables (14) from leaking into the gasifying furnace (10), and feeding the inflammables (14) in the hopper (36) into the gasifying furnace (10) at a constant rate while controlling, at a constant, the stored amount of the inflammables (14) fed into the hopper (36), whereby a variation in volume of inflammable gases produced in the gasifying furnace (10) can be decreased by preventing the external air from leaking into the gasifying furnace (10) and feeding the inflammables (14) in the hopper (36) into the gasifying furnace (10) at a constant rate so that the stable operation of the gasifying furnace (10) can be facilitated.
