METHOD AND DEVICE FOR FINDING SUBSTANCE MIXTURES FOR SUBSTANCE LIBRARIES

Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for finding substance mixtures that are suitable for establishing substance libraries containing low-molecular, organic substances. The inventive method is characterized by preparing the mixtures for analytical purposes, separating the mixtures by chromatography and electrophoresis methods, and identifying the low-molecular, organic substances contained in the respective mixture by establishing a profile from at least two physical parameters for every mixture by detecting every fraction by means of at least two suitable detectors to characterize the substances contained in the mixture, comparing the parameters so obtained with the parameters from a parameter collection of known substances and determining the substances known in said collection for every mixture. The method is specifically characterized in that the new and known substances so identified are quantified, the mixtures in which selected substances are present in a minimum number and/or minimum quantity are selected, the first physical parameter is the retention time and the second physical parameter is the molar mass determined by mass spectrometry.
