Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and a device for forming a corner, limited on three sides, from an even-surfaced plate part, in particular sheet metal. The lateral edges of said plate part which lie adjacent to the corner, are bevelled along the greater part of their longitudinal extension parallel to the even-surfaced plate part and have a curved outline in the area of the corner which is to be formed, from the bevelled lateral edge to the plane of the even-surfaced plate part. The curved-outline transition area of the pre-formed blank is then pressed against a tool (16) and brought into contact with at least one roller assembly (42) which overlaps the corner area (10) between the lateral sides. The corner is then produced by forming the material and is optionally cut in a cutting device.
