Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for forwarding short messages from a mobile terminal from an external network to an external short message unit and to a device for carrying out said method. The aim of the invention is to provide a method by which an external short message unit (8), for example a software application that runs on a computer in a data network (9), can be reached from a mobile phone (1) from any external network (10). To this end, the short message center (12) of the external network (10) inquires with the home network (7) by way of the recipient's number of the external short message unit (8) and a virtual HLR register (14) of the home network (7) that responds to the inquiry with a confirmation that contains information about a virtual switching unit (15) of the home network (7) via which the short message SMS is to be forwarded to the external short message unit (8).
