Abstract:
The present invention pertains to the field of techniques for the fine and ultra-fine grinding of materials having various hardness. The method for grinding materials involves generating streams of the material to be ground in channels are located away from the axis of the grinding device. The material streams are collided according to an alternating mode with grinding members which are mounted in the direction of rotating rotors. Between collisions, the streams of material are accelerated in an axial direction in the channels extending between the grinding members, wherein the cross section of said channels defines a closed loop. The acceleration is obtained from the centrifugal force from the rotor rotation and from the tapering of the channel cross section from the centre towards the periphery of the grinding chamber. The device for grinding materials comprises a body with an axial inlet opening and a radial outlet opening. The body also includes a cylindrical grinding chamber in which two horizontal rotors are arranged coaxially so as to be capable of rotation in opposite directions. The rotors include a plurality of annular rows of grinding members which have a flat front surface oriented at a given angle relative to the axial direction of the grinding chamber. The channels extending between the grinding members have a cross section which defines a closed loop and tapers from the centre towards the periphery.
