Abstract:
One embodiment of the present invention relates to a method and a device for image encoding/decoding using split prediction. The embodiment of the present invention relates to the method and the device for image encoding/decoding using block split prediction, where, in a step of predicting motion pictures by a data compression device, a block is divided into a shape that is not the conventional standardized rectangular shape for efficiently predicting the image of a current block from a prior image, thereby further enhancing the performance of video data compression and thus achieving superior reproduced image quality.
