Abstract:
Provided is a method for inspecting poor sealing of a container using infrared light, wherein a 100 percent noncontact and nondestructive inspection is enabled by a relatively inexpensive device even if the inspection is not performed immediately after heat sealing.
Infrared light with a wavelength of 1450 nm ± 20 nm is applied to a seal portion of a sample container from a light transmitter (7), infrared light transmitted therethrough or reflected thereby is received by a light receiver (8) and transmitted to a photodetector (10) through an optical fiber (9) to output voltage proportional to the light amount of the infrared light, the outputted voltage is converted into an analog voltage value by a smoothing circuit board (11), the analog voltage value is transmitted to a controller (12) to thereby preset the threshold value of the analog voltage value, the same infrared light with the same light amount as in the case of the sample container is applied to a seal portion of a container to be inspected, received infrared light is converted into an analog voltage value, the analog voltage value is transmitted to the controller (12), and when the analog voltage value is smaller than the threshold value preset by the sample container, poor sealing is determined.
