A method and device for launching an application of a mobile terminal, relating to the technical field of communications. The method comprises: monitoring whether a motion parameter of a mobile terminal meets a preset condition (S101); and if the motion parameter meets the preset condition, launching a preset application and displaying an operating interface of the preset application (S102). By means of the method, when it is monitored that a motion parameter of a mobile terminal meets a preset condition, a preset application can be launched; a user only needs to shake the mobile terminal according to the preset condition to launch the preset application without searching for the application in a great number of application icons, so that the operation is simple and convenient, and user experience is improved.
