Abstract:
A method and device for managing a network apparatus. The method comprises: generating statistical traffic data comprising at least one of a data traffic volume of an interface of the network apparatus, a queue status, a traffic volume of data packets passing through the network apparatus, and a traffic volume of a target data flow; and sending to a controller the statistical traffic data to be used by the controller for managing the network apparatus. By receiving statistical traffic data sent by multiple network apparatuses, the present invention enables a controller to change, according to a traffic volume state of each interface in the multiple network apparatuses or a traffic volume state of a transmitted data flow, routing tables in the network apparatuses, thus dynamically adjusting a path of a data flow, increasing the utilization rate of a link, and accordingly improving network performance.
