Abstract:
A method for manufacturing abrasive tools used for working steels and alloys at high-speed operating conditions and forced operating conditions of grinding. The method consists in the hot forming and bakelization of an abrasive compound (13, 44) in a compressed state together with a pressing element side the press. Bimetallic members having a specific bending strength of at least 0.2 grade1 are used as the pressing element. The device for carrying out the method comprises a casing (1) with a charge opening (14) intended for placing in the casing (1) moulds with the abrasive compound (13). Heaters (3, 4) are mounted close to the moulds whereas between the heaters (3, 4) and the casing (1) bimetallic plates (2, 7) are mounted, so that the active layers thereof are in contact with the heaters (3, 4). The device comprises further a mean for maintaining the pressure, said means having the form of a locking ring (8) with a screw thread on its outer surface. The locking ring (8) is fixed in a threaded opening of the casing (1) and cooperates with one of the bimetallic plates (2, 7). the diameter of the opening of the locking ring (8) is such as to allow the interaction between the pressure means and the abrasive compound in the mould.
