This method for manufacturing a fiber-reinforced resin molding material wherein fiber bundles are impregnated with resin involves: a separating step of intermittently separating the fiber bundles along the longitudinal direction and forming at least two rows by aligning, in the width direction of the fiber bundles, the separated rows extending in the longitudinal direction; and a cutting step of cutting the fiber bundles at longitudinal intervals after the separating step, wherein the separating step and the cutting step are performed so as to satisfy all of (1) to (3).
