Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and device for manufacturing, using an oxygen-containing compound, propene and a C4 hydrocarbon. The method comprises cycling a product comprising at least 80 weight percent of a C5 or higher hydrocarbon to a catalytic cracking enhancement pipe to allow a cracking reaction to take place, and generating a product comprising propene and a C4 hydrocarbon. The invention thereby improves ethene alkylation reaction rates and unit volume production capacity of reactors.
