METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MANUFACTURING SHEET FOR ABSORPTIVE ARTICLE

A method for manufacturing a sheet for an absorptive article, configured to manufacture the continuous sheet by a processing device while conveying the continuous sheet in the longitudinal direction thereof which intersects the width direction thereof. The processing device is provided with a pair of rollers rotating about predetermined axes with the outer peripheral surfaces of the rollers faced each other. At least one of the pair of rollers is provided, on the outer peripheral surface thereof, with processing protrusions arranged in the direction of the rotation axis of the roller. The method involves: the application of tension, which acts in the width direction, to the continuous sheet; and the processing of the continuous sheet, the processing being performed in such a manner that, when the continuous sheet is passed through the gap between the pair of rollers in the longitudinal direction of the continuous sheet with the tension in the width direction applied to the continuous sheet, the processing protrusions push the continuous sheet toward the roller which faces the processing protrusions.
