Title:
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MEASURING SLEEP EFFICIENCY BY USING RADAR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2018/124812
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A method and a device for measuring sleep efficiency by using a radar are provided. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the device for measuring sleep efficiency by using a radar comprises: a height recognition unit for recognizing the height of a person to be measured by using a signal received from the radar; a motion section extraction unit for extracting, from the received signal, a motion section during sleeping of a person to be measured and calculating a length of the extracted motion section and a motion amount; a normalization unit for normalizing the motion amount by applying, to the calculated motion amount, a ratio of the height of the person to be measured to the length of the motion section; a sleep/awaken state determination unit for calculating a total motion amount per unit length for a predetermined time on the basis of the normalized motion amount and comparing the calculated total motion amount and a predetermined threshold value to determine whether the person to be measured is in an awaken state or a sleep state; and a sleep efficiency calculation unit for calculating sleep efficiency by using a total sleep time, a time determined for the awaken state and the frequency determined for awaken states during the total sleep time, and a predetermined awaken state maintaining time for which the awaken state is predicted to be maintained.
