Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and device for monitoring an angular orientation of a rotor in an electric motor (1). An angle detection device (3) coupled to the rotor, such as in the form of a resolver, can be used for repeatedly determining a detected angular orientation. After each determination, a differential value is derived between the currently detected angular orientation and a previously detected angular orientation. If said differential value is greater than a preset threshold value, then an error signal is output. The error signal thereby indicates that a non-plausible angular orientation value was determined during detection of the angular orientation and can thus be used for preventing erroneous actuation of the electric motor (1) by a control device (9).
