Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for monitoring a meshing process of a meshing pinion of a starter motor for a vehicle drive, wherein an armature of the starter motor is moved by a magnet. According to said method: a magnet coil signal is recorded (103) when a magnet coil of the magnet is energised, in order to obtain a signal profile, especially a current profile; a differential profile is generated (105) by differentiating the signal profile; zero crossings in the differential profile are determined (107); and the meshing process is monitored (109) on the basis of the determined zero crossings.
