Abstract:
A method and device for online measurement of seawater salinity. The method comprises: controlling a sweep laser source by using a sweep synchronization signal such that the wavelength of frequency modulated light waves outputted by the sweep laser source is a periodic sawtooth signal; splitting the outputted frequency modulated light waves into two paths which are respectively sent to a refractive index probe and a temperature probe in seawater, the refractive index probe being an interferometer structure which returns an interference light intensity signal having a frequency value associated with a seawater refractive index and computes the refractive index of seawater by performing discrete Fourier transform on the interference light intensity, the temperature probe being provided therein with a fiber Bragg grating which forms a reflection spectrum having a Bragg wavelength associated with seawater temperature; performing synchronous discrete sampling on the sweep synchronization signal and the light intensity signal reflected by the fiber Bragg grating, and computing a seawater temperature value according to a grating temperature sensing/demodulation algorithm; and obtaining the salinity value of the measured seawater according to the obtained refractive index, the temperature value, and the average wavelength of the frequency-modulated light waves by solving an empirical equation, thereby implementing online measurement of seawater salinity.
