Abstract:
A method and device are disclosed for operating a diesel engine which is fed with a diesel/water emulsion in which the proportion of water is altered in accordance with the engine speed and load. To achieve further reductions in the concentration of nitrogen monoxide in the exhaust gas, exhaust gas from the diesel engine is fed back into the air intake; the proportion of exhaust gas thus fed back is adjusted in accordance with the water concentration and/or oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas, as required.
