METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PADDING TREATMENT OF FIBROUS MATERIALS

Provided are a method and device for padding treatment, said method and device being capable of producing evenly-treated fibers and reducing loss of the treatment agent when immersing fibrous materials in a treatment fluid for padding treatment. While padding treatment is being performed, i.e. the fibrous material is immersed in a padding tank (1) that stores the treatment fluid and nip rolls (4) are evenly applying the treatment fluid, the optical intensity of the treatment fluid (S) in the padding tank (1) is measured by an optical sensor (20) and a concentration measurement unit (21), and the quantity of treatment fluid (S) is measured by a fluid-surface sensor (22) and a quantity measurement unit (23). A control unit (30) calculates, on the basis of the measured optical intensity and fluid quantity, the amount of concentrated treatment fluid that needs to be added to bring the concentration and quantity of the treatment fluid in the padding tank to prescribed levels. The control unit then adds concentrated treatment fluid (T) from a refill tank (17) to a preparation tank (15) and prepares refill processing fluid (ST), which is then supplied to the padding tank (1).
