Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for performing entropy encoding with respect to a video signal, the method comprising the steps of: receiving input of multi-symbols, wherein the multi-symbols are symbols having three or more values; performing probability update with respect to the information of the multi-symbols; calculating an interval length on the basis of final probability determined in accordance with the probability update, and storing context corresponding to the final probability; and performing multi-symbol arithmetic coding (MSAC) with respect to the multi-symbols on the basis of the context, wherein the interval length is calculated on the basis of the number of the multi-symbols.
