Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing a custom-made shoe last from the 3D image of a reference shoe last and the 3D image of a customer's foot, for which the custom-made last is being produced, these images having previously been captured by a 3D scanner system or a sensing system, or produced by computer aided design software. An existing shoe last can thus be adapted, entirely automatically, to the measurements of a foot while preserving the appearance of the reference last. The first step consists of applying a set of algorithms in order to determine axes, points and portions in the 3D images of the customer's foot and of the reference last, solely on the basis of the geometry of these images and without any user intervention. The extracted information is used to compare the measurements of the customer's foot with the measurements of the reference last, and include measurements obtained for different functional parts of the foot (heel, instep, metatarsal joint, arch,...) and of the last (fitting, notch, instep, crease, end...). The second step of the method is that of modifying the reference last on the basis of the extracted information. Geometric conversion operators are applied to the 3D image of the reference last to adapt the different portions thereof to the measurements of the customer's foot. These operators are automatically parametrised on the basis of the information extracted in the first step. This results in a 3D image of a shoe last that can be used to produce a custom-made shoe in the same model as the initial reference last. The claimed method can be used to model and adapt any type of shoe last for men, women or children, for shoes of any model, heel height or material, and for feet of any type and size. It offers high reproducibility and accuracy in the process of creating a custom-made last from an existing last, thereby allowing it to be used in an industrial context.
