Abstract:
Provided are a method and a device for producing an excrement treatment material with which it is possible to obtain an excrement treatment material in which granules having different lengths are mixed, without performing a mixing step. This production method includes a granulation step. The granulation step is a step for performing extrusion granulation on a material to be granulated using a granulator 10 to form a plurality of granules. The granulator 10 has a die 12 and rollers 14. A plurality of through holes 13 for passing the material to be granulated therethrough are formed in the die 12. The rollers 14 press the material to be granulated into the through holes 13 while rolling on a surface of the die 12. In the granulation step, low-speed pressing, in which the material to be granulated is pressed in while the rollers 14 are caused to roll at a first speed, and high-speed pressing, in which the material to be granulated is pressed in while the rollers 14 are caused to roll at a second speed greater than the first speed, are performed.
