Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and device for producing an externally profiled gearing element comprising a work piece (2) supported by a tool (1) rotatable around an axis X-X, wherein a toothing (6') is formed at least on the section (4) of the workpiece (2) by means of a forming roller (5) provided with a toothing (6) on the periphery thereof. Said invention is characterised in that the toothing (6') is formed first in an angular area (7) of the section (4) and afterwards said toothing is formed from said angular area (7) on the entire axial length of the section (4) of the workpiece which can be provided with toothing.
