Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and device for providing an alert in a network function virtualization environment related to the field of the Internet. The method is applied in a network function virtualization (NFV) system and comprises: a main virtual machine receiving alert information transmitted by an alert monitor in a network function virtualization infrastructure (NFVI) in the NFV system, wherein the alert information is generated when the alert monitor detects an alert event, and carries an identifier of a resource that generated the alert event; the main virtual machine determining, based on the alert information, an identifier of at least one target virtual machine, wherein the target virtual machine is a user virtual machine occupying the resource that generated the alert event; and the main virtual machine respectively providing, based on the identifier of the at least one target virtual machine, the alert information to a network element manager (EM) corresponding to the virtual network function (VNF) in the at least one target virtual machine. The present invention is capable of enhancing the efficiency of transmitting alert information to an EM.
