Abstract:
The present invention separates an air pollutant from an exhaust gas with high efficiency at reduced running cost. A method for purifying an exhaust gas comprises: atomizing an aqueous alkaline solution with an atomizer to produce fine mists of the aqueous alkaline solution in an atomization step; mixing the mists of the aqueous alkaline solution with the exhaust gas in a mixing step to cause an air pollutant contained in the exhaust gas to be absorbed by the mists; and separating the mists that have absorbed the air pollutant therein from the exhaust gas in a separation step to separate the air pollutant from the exhaust gas.
