Abstract:
Disclosed are a method and device for re-instantiating a virtual network function. The method comprises: a virtual network function manager (VNFM) receives information indicating that a re-instantiation of a virtual network function (VNF) instance is required; the VNFM requests a virtualized infrastructure manager (VIM) to release the virtual resource corresponding to the VNF instance required to be re-instantiated and to allocate a virtual resource required for instantiating a new VNF instance; after completion of the release of the virtual resource corresponding to the VNF instance required to be re-instantiated, the VNFM uses the virtual resource allocated by the VIM to establish a new VNF instance, wherein the new VNF instance has a deployment parameter consistent with a deployment parameter of the VNF instance required to be re-instantiated, and has identification information the same as said VNF instance.
